About the Role
As an Events Officer, you'll be instrumental in planning, executing, and evaluating a diverse range of events, including industry summits, conferences, workshops, and forums. Your role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each event delivers exceptional experiences.
- Advocate for accessibility best practices at events, ensuring equal participation for all attendees.
- Coordinate and manage various events, aligning them with organisational plans and strategic approaches.
- Engage stakeholders to understand event requirements and effectively represent our organisation at public-facing events.
- Oversee project management aspects, ensuring smooth execution within cross-functional teams.
- Monitor event budgets and expenditure, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Liaise with venues and external suppliers, managing logistics and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with events, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Evaluate event success, gather feedback, and prepare comprehensive reports for future improvement.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Positive attitudes towards people with disabilities and a strong understanding of disability issues.
- Experience in event coordination, preferably within a large organisation.
- Proficiency in managing virtual and hybrid events.
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple events under tight deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong critical thinking skills and adaptability.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
