We are seeking a candidate who can play a pivotal role in the Events Team in a Federal government agency on the Gold Coast. As the Events Officer, you will be at the forefront of event planning and organisation, playing a crucial role in shaping Agency’s presence in industry summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and forums. With a focus on delivering exceptional experiences, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives with the Agency’s goals, ensuring that each event serves as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and engagement.Candidates *MUST* be an Australian citizen to applyDuties:
- Advocate for best practice accessibility at the events to ensure all attendees have equal participation.
- Work with the Events leadership team to identify key opportunities for appropriate agency attendance at events
- Manage a proactive events strategy
- Assist in the preparation and logistics of events including sessions, forums, conferences, and webinars, providing local logistical event management as required.
- Provide support to manage the events inbox and provide event digital support/ manage the online component for virtual and hybrid meetings.
- Monitor event budgets,tracking expenditure, and ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately.
- Engages with event service providers and manages relationships to secure necessary resources and services.
- Identify potential risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and health and safety standards.
- Responsible for post-event management, gathering feedback from attendees, preparing comprehensive reports, analysing data, identifying areas and improvement, and providing recommendations for future events.
- Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability, high level understanding and knowledge of disability, and its impact on individuals.
- Relevant experience in event coordination, preferably in a large organisation setting.
- Strong digital experience in managing virtual as well as hybrid events
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
- Budget management experience.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and management, ensuring events comply with relevant regulations and policies.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks.
- Able to negotiate effectively by listening to differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive counterarguments.
