About the Opportunity:
The Events Specialist is responsible for planning and executing engaging events to achieve Flinders Foundation’s fundraising and engagement objectives. This role complements strategies by delivering high-quality events, fostering new supporters, and maintaining engagement with existing supporters.
Key Responsibilities:
Events Support:
- Plan and execute events, leading tasks such as venue bookings, attendee registrations, seating plans, room layouts, entertainment, and theming.
- Develop invitation lists and manage RSVPs through the CRM system.
- Cultivate relationships with supporters, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful event planning and execution.
- Utilise online platforms (e.g., Givergy and Raffletix) to support fundraising initiatives.
- Work closely with the community partnerships team to secure event sponsorship and contributions for fundraising activities, such as auctions and raffles.
- Work closely with the communications team to develop pre, during, and post-event communications to keep stakeholders engaged and informed.
- Work closely with the engagement team on engagement plans for event attendees.
- Coordinate the creation of marketing materials, digital communications, and event activities.
- Prepare post-event evaluations and reporting, gathering feedback from team members, volunteers, venues, suppliers, stakeholders, and supporters.
- Operate within expenditure and income budgets.
- Monitor sector performance and trends to stay informed on best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, organisational policies, and procedures.
- Perform administration tasks associated with the role in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify and report risks and hazards.
- Manage systems and online platforms associated with events.
- Maintain supporter information integrity in the Salesforce database.
- 3+ years of prior experience in events within a fundraising or similar business environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications, Outlook, and database software.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Creative, innovative, and flexible, with an aptitude for accommodating change.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of applying appropriate discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends.
