At City Parklands, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brisbane City Council, we are passionate about parks, public places and people and we deliver integrated place management for South Bank Parklands, Roma Street Parkland, Victoria Park/Barrambin and most recently Anzac Square on behalf of Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government. As the trusted custodians of these premier parklands, we acknowledge the responsibility to manage, enhance and enliven these beautiful places effectively and efficiently.

We are looking for a new team member to join our team as a the Manager, Program & Events. This position will provide strategic event advice, planning, and coordination that supports the delivery of activations, events, campaigns and experiences for the people of, and visitors to, Brisbane, and to develop and maintain a destination program for City Parklands managed spaces and places.

As the Manager, Program & Events, you will:

Contribute to the development of key Program and Event strategies for City Parklands, by;

  • identifying the popular and relevant themes, stories and personalities specific to each parkland precinct grounded in the evaluation of data.
  • curating a range of engaging events and experiences that reflect each parkland precinct, including a suitable mix of produced and partnered events and the considered evaluation and selection of hosted events.
  • continuously evaluating and refining existing events and experiences to ensure alignment and relevance to each parkland precinct, the current environment and to national and global event trends.

Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of an Event Strategy for City Parklands’ managed precincts that provides clear direction to the operational events teams, including;

  • experience design and development, including individual event purpose, programming pillars and long-term vision for each produced/partnered event.
  • pitching of new event and experience concepts and programming elements to City Parklands management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • event selection, including the development of clear assessment guidelines for hosted event opportunities.

Contribute to the development of an effective revenue model for City Parklands to achieve overall value for money outcomes and reinvestment to the parklands and experiences on offer. And build and maintain effective relationships with key precinct partners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration across event delivery and programming elements.

  • Teamwork – Actively contributing to not only the team's performance, but across City Parklands to positively impact the wellbeing and amenity of our customers through an ability to quickly establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships.
