About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.

About the role

The Executive Board Support Officer reports directly to the Manager Governance & Board Secretariat and works within a supportive and dynamic team.

This role will be responsible for providing a range of executive support services to the Board Secretariat as well as ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations of the Board.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing executive administrative support to the Board by maintaining regular liaison with members and the Agency executive to coordinate activities, support the flow of information and ensure responses meet deadlines.
  • Providing a range of coordination and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, to ensure the Board is able to fulfil its legislative obligations and support the CEO and the Minister/s by providing advice and recommendations on matters requested by the CEO and the Minister/s.
  • Preparing and managing high level communications and correspondence including relevant Board papers, minutes, reports and submissions to ensure the comprehensiveness, readability, accuracy and timeliness of the information.
  • Preparing quarterly reports about the exercise of the Authority's functions and arranging for publication within statutory timeframes.
  • Communicating with key stakeholders and coordinating key staff, Board members, committees, and consultations to facilitate the exchange of information to support requirements for the delivery.

About you

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to establish exceptional coordination and support services to a newly established Board of experienced professionals who will provide expert advice and recommendations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Strong coordination skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience providing high level secretariat services and/or experience liaising with senior executives to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure to meet tight timeframes.
