THE OPPORTUNITY The Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) is responsible for setting strategic direction and state-wide policy, as well as the performance of South Australia’s Public Health system. The Public Health Division works with and for the SA community to improve Public Health.
THE ROLE An Executive Director, Public Health Planning and Response is now sought. This is a key executive role within the Public Health Division and will support the Chief Public Health Officer and other directorates in the Division to develop an optimised and integrated system for Planning and responding to immediate and future Public Health priorities and threats.
The role will provide executive leadership and oversight of the Disaster Management Branch, Aboriginal and Regional Public Health Branch and Blood, Organ and Tissue Branch and in conjunction with the Communicable Disease Control Branch, coordinate complex state-wide outbreak preparedness and Responses. THE CANDIDATE This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Public Health professional to ensure preparedness in responding to immediate and future Public Health priorities and threats.

- High level and influential leadership and expertise in Public Health to enable the development and implementation of significantly complex and critical system wide strategies and initiatives
- Detailed knowledge and experience in public (ie population) health
- Leadership skills and knowledge across a diverse range of areas including strategic Planning and emergency management
- Proven ability to bring about change whilst working in an ambiguous and fast changing environment.
