About the Role and You
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, as the Executive Director, Water and Catchments, you'll closely collaborate with the Executive Director of Coastal, Biodiversity & Information to lead important science programs, enhancing understanding of environment and resource management within a climate-conscious setting. Your role includes delivering this knowledge to policymakers, ensuring that Queensland Government initiatives are grounded in scientific advice and digital innovation. You'll also play a crucial role within the Science Division Leadership Directorate and the department's Policy Insights and Leadership Sub-Committee.
Key to your success is your ability to lead diverse scientific programs covering hydrology, water quality, and soil management, as well as fostering collaborative partnerships, including building strong relationships with government, clients, industries, and stakeholders to facilitate joint scientific efforts. Efficient project management is vital for ensuring successful project outcomes, delivering comprehensive scientific briefs and reports to inform decision-making and policy development. Managing significant resources and fostering a workplace culture that supports First Nations peoples and engaging in projects to improve First Nations peoples outcomes are essential aspects of the role.
