Known by many as the 'Freo Dockers', the Club fields teams in both the Australian Football League (AFL) and the AFL Women's competition with home games played at the 60,000 seat Optus Stadium and Fremantle Oval respectively.
The Dockers are currently in an exciting phase of a 5 year strategic plan (2021-2025), which sets sights on a maiden Premiership as well many other notable pursuits across Football, Culture, Members & Fans, Community, Partnerships, Finance and Infrastructure pillars.
This Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the position plays an integral part of the Executive Team and will be pivotal in advancing Fremantle Football Club's purpose, vision, and values by leading the strategic delivery of the culture and Community strategic pillars.
You will be responsible for steering the strategic vision and operational excellence of the People and Culture and Community Engagement teams, and their outcomes including Organisational Culture and Leadership Development, Human Resources, Community Engagement Programs, Diversity and Inclusion, Reconciliation, ESG initiatives and The Purple Hands Foundation.
The role plays a central part in championing the Club's Purpose, Vision, and Values, commonly referred to as Anchors and will involve crafting and executing strategies to connect the Club with the broader community, fostering positive relationships and making a meaningful impact.
About You:
As a successful leader, you will have a depth of experience in a senior, strategic and forward-thinking People and Culture and/or Community Engagement position in a fast moving and diverse environment. You will have strong commercial acumen as well as the ability to identify opportunities and risks.
A relevant tertiary qualification in HR, Business or a related discipline is highly desirable, as is the ability to develop, lead, implement and measure the effectiveness of a broad range of contemporary people, capability, safety and organisational development strategies, programs and policies.
A collaborative and adaptable leadership style is essential, as is the commitment to executing the organisational strategy ensuring the well-being and engagement of all teams remain strong. You will foster innovation, collaboration and have passion for community development and building stakeholder relationships.
