The Opportunity: General Manager Mining Services

As the company charts an exciting course forward, a unique opportunity arises for a visionary General Manager to lead their Mining Services business to new heights. Safety, training, and client partnerships are the pillars upon which success is built in this role.
Reporting directly to the CEO, as the General Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's trajectory by overseeing the following responsibilities and objectives:
- Develop high quality industry relationships that successfully expand the brand with awarded work.
- Actively build new client relationships for the Mining Services Division by identifying opportunities and driving new contracts by building a strategic client portfolio.
- Develop and implement project controls that ensure contracts are executed safely, productively and profitably.
- Develop divisional capability and growth through the provision of fit for purpose training, development and support frameworks to ensure employees meet and exceed current and future project delivery requirements.
- Ensuring meticulous validation and completion of progress claims to secure comprehensive recovery of all work under contractual obligations.
- Continuously enhancing the already stellar internal safety culture while serving as a vital conduit of information to the local community.
- Spearheading progress reporting, cost control, and forecasting endeavours to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
- Offering steadfast support and mentorship to team members, assisting in managing priorities, workloads, planning, expectations, and performance.
Is This for You?
To thrive in this pivotal role, you will need to be willing to dig deep and demonstrate the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or mining engineering (or equivalent Construction / Project Management qualifications)
- Proven proficiency in managing mining and or Mining Services, coupled with a track record of effectively leading teams to surpass deliverables consistently.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives tailored to the local context.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, coupled with the knack for influencing key stakeholders within the local community.
- Possession of a collaborative and transparent leadership style, complemented by sound management capabilities.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and strategic business planning tailored to local market dynamics.
- Acumen in contractual and commercial affairs, particularly within the regional context.
