Form of workPilbara Ports Authority (Pilbara Ports) is the world’s largest bulk export port authority, encompassing the operating ports of Ashburton, Dampier, Port Hedland, and Varanus Island and five future port sites. The ports of Dampier and Port Hedland are among the world’s largest bulk export ports, responsible for approximately 78 per cent of Australia’s, and more than 43 per cent of the world’s iron ore trade. Other major export commodities include liquefied natural gas (LNG) and salt. Approximately 38 per cent of Australia’s exports and 7.5 per cent of global LNG trade is exported through the ports of Dampier and Ashburton.
The Board and Management team are focused on ensuring each port connects the possibilities of the Pilbara to the world so our customers and communities can thrive. Integrated Planning and effective land use are key parts in enabling this to be achieved.
The newly established Executive General Manager for Planning and Property has been created to transform Pilbara Ports’ approach to strategic port planning. Responsible for land use planning, land tenure management, development approval processes, spatial and mapping systems administration, and oversight of the residential property portfolio, including the Hedland Maritime Initiative, the EGM plays a vital role in shaping the future of ports, and the benefits they provide, across the Pilbara.
Pilbara Ports seeks a strategic leader with a background in integrated planning within industrial, mining, or maritime environments. The ideal candidate will drive evidence-based organisational performance, excel in team leadership, and possess strong analytical abilities. To be successful in this role will require a collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and a diverse range of stakeholders.
With operations in the Pilbara and a corporate office in Perth, the position allows flexibility, with the choice of being based in either the Pilbara or Perth, with regular travel to Pilbara sites.
