As a Senior Regulatory Scientist within the Australian Industrial Chemical Introduction Scheme, you will bring enthusiasm and technical expertise to the delivery of the Sections’ activities. You will have a proven ability to lead a small team, analyse and assess data and information, provide accurate and timely risk assessments of Industrial Chemicals, and develop guidance materials. You will display excellent communication skills, using these to work collaboratively and productively across and outside the organisation, including with international counterparts. With your scientific and technical background, you will aid and assist in providing high quality independent, objective, specialist advice based on the application of proven and emerging methodologies. You will be committed to innovation in improving processes, while ensuring the maintenance of a high level of rigour in all aspects of scientific work.
Mandatory Qualification:
- Evaluation and Chemical Screening Section & Scientific Practice Section:
To be eligible for this position applicants must hold a degree in chemistry, environmental sciences or biomedical sciences, particularly in the areas of toxicology, pharmacology or biochemistry.
- Assessment and Inventory Section:
To be eligible for this position applicants must hold a degree in chemistry or a related discipline.
