The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary leader to join us as the Executive Manager Finance to make sure the numbers stack up! Reporting directly to the General Manager, and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape the fiscal future of Council by providing visionary leadership and subject matter expertise. We are seeking a dynamic individual to oversee the Finance portfolio, ensuring financial management processes, people and resources are optimised for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
This role is pivotal in leading core financial and accounting functions in accordance with contemporary accounting practices and Australian Accounting Standards. This role will take charge of managing Council's adopted budget, making necessary adjustments and reporting to Council as required. You will champion best practice in financial and risk management and apply human-centred design principles to enhance service provisions.
About You
We are looking for someone that is a visionary leader, who will embrace Council's Customer Driven Transformation initiatives to cultivate a customer-centric culture and drive technology-led innovations within the group. You will be tertiary qualified in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related field coupled with contemporary industry knowledge and significant experience at Senior Management Level. You will bring your expertise as a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant showcasing a proven track record of success.
You will be a natural leader, and have the ability to coach your team to drive efficient outcomes and achieve objectives. Your knack for analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation will shine as you provide considered, timely, and pragmatic advice.
