Resource Recovery Group is a statutory local government authority established in 1991 by local governments in the southern part of metropolitan Perth. Our focus is to maximise material recovery and minimise climate impact by providing best practice resource recovery solutions with high recovery rates and ethical supply chains.
About the role
The organisation is currently under review with a view to transition to a new operating model. Your role will be to provide strategic, advisory and executive support to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior management Team. You will drive and deliver strategic, corporate and governance projects associated with the transition of the organisation to a new entity.
You will need strong knowledge of the Local Government Act, regulations and local government procedures and frameworks. You will have experience as a strategic leader and be prepared to take a hands-on approach in preparing and executing projects associated with the transition. You don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and providing support wherever it is required.
Position details
This is a full-time role offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months. A salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant in line with skills, qualifications and experience. The role will be based at our Booragoon office but will require regular travel to our Canning Vale site.
Skills and qualifications required
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in business management, finance or relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated regulations.
- Experience as a strategic leader with a hands-on approach in preparing strategic and other business plans in local government.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to influence and negotiate.
- Demonstrated efficiency with MS Office suite.
- Working knowledge of ICT frameworks and systems.
Desirable
- Project management experience.
