The Business Banking Distribution Risk team support all aspects of risk management for our customer facing channels of Major Client Group, Regional and Agribusiness, Commercial Banking and Small Business Banking. The team also support the newly formed Business Banking Customer, Channels and Data (CCD) and lead strategic risk transformation on behalf of Business Banking including Scam Prevention, Business Lending Fraud prevention and Privacy within our segments.

Reporting to the General Manager, Distribution Risk – you will take a lead seat in driving strategic change and a positive risk culture for our CCD team. The CCD teams support all BB segments and product houses and play a key role in enabling the success of customers, creating a better day for our people and the achievement of our NPS +30 ambition.
As a key partner for the CCD leadership team you will lead a small but senior team, focusing on initiatives to support the strategic role that CC play for Business Banking as well as all aspects of Operational Risk & Compliance.
Key responsibilities for this role includes
Establish, lead and hold overall accountability and oversight to ensure the business has appropriately managed its risk and control environment.
Drive uplift of the control environment, with a particular focus on improving control automation.
Overall accountability for driving a proactive risk and control culture, motivate and inspire a team of risk and control professionals.
Provide oversight and expert advice to senior leaders for control improvement activities. Support senior management in developing a strong risk culture across their business.
Review and provide expert guidance to ensure effective design of controls for all new and changing processes.
Engage with business leaders and Line 2 to determine and recommend optimal course of action to remediate any significant data integrity issues within the BU.
Overall accountability for testing the design and operating effectiveness of the Controls Assurance Program (CAP) by regularly ensuring that key operational risks are being appropriately mitigated, including oversight of test scripts.
Lead or partner with peers to support Business Banking strategic risk initiatives.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
Executive Manger level experience leading a mid-sized team, including coaching, and developing others as well as managing performance.
Excellent knowledge of operational risk, compliance and licensing obligations.
Experience in Data, Analytics and AI within a Risk & Compliance environment.
Experience in identifying, prioritising and leading input to areas for future Line 1 assurance work.
Strong organisational, planning, time management and project management skills, including both a traditional and agile project methodology, with a flexible approach to ensure critical activities are delivered.
Ability to engage, influence and challenge a large and varied executive stakeholder group.
