· SydneyHow will I help?Global Transaction Services (GTS) provides transactional banking, client experience and solution implementation for institutional customers as well as manages the bank's payment networks, the regulatory and payments strategy agenda, and the end-to-end payments operations including clearing and settlements.In this position you will lead the 2nd line risk oversight over major GTS program with complex requirements for technology, Cyber and data risk.
Your responsibilities would include appropriate risk identification, documentation, and management of remedial actions on an ongoing basis in accordance with Operational Risk frameworks, Prudential standards and Technology/Data policies and standards.The scope of the role focuses on managing risks proactively arising from technology enabled business program working with vendor, business, and technology stakeholders for assessing impacts and reviewing controls and mitigations.Through delivery of the above, you will enable the realisation of GTS project goals to simplify data flows and enable business strategies, products, and transform Payment processes.Key Accountabilities:
- Partner the business through their strategic deliverables, providing Technology/Data risk insight and oversight to ensure appropriate risk delivery.
- Oversight and support business in achieving target state application and effectiveness of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- Lead deep dive reviews over risk themes to provide specialist knowledge, insightful advice, and challenge on remediation actions.
- Provide insightful management information to the division arising from internal or external lessons learnt, that influence decisions, optimise risk/reward balance, and assist it to achieve its objectives, within risk appetite and legal parameters.
- Provide an independent assessment and challenge over the risk profile of the businesses, and the adequacy of the control framework and measures to return any risks back to appetite.
- Provide an independent assessment and challenge over the delivery risks and delivered risks inherent in material business changes e.g., key strategic change decisions, projects, process changes, implementation of new infrastructure, product changes or launches.
- Assist the division in driving a risk culture in which risk awareness and thinking is built into day-to-day business decisions.
- Support the business in building out the strategic and external dimension of risk components to provide a forward-looking view of potential risks.
- Maintaining active networks both internally and with external industry peers.
- Substantial Technology/Data risk advisory experience.
- Experience with documenting Technology controls and / or control assessments.
- Exposure to other risk classes such as Cyber, Compliance, Supplier Risk, emerging technologies e.g. AI, Cloud, financial crime is an advantage.
- Strong technical data risk management experience, including data risk in projects.
- Demonstrable experience in the identification and articulation of data impacts (technical and business impacts) of systems migration and decommissioning, including assessing the effectiveness of risk mitigation approach.
- Strong practical understanding and experience in data/records treatment in system migration and decommissioning projects
- Demonstrable experience of influencing senior business leadership teams, strategic thinking, and prioritisation
- Relevant industry qualifications.
- Experience in Westpac data and systems an advantage.
