The Australasian Lymphology Association is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote excellence in health care for people with or at risk of lymphoedema by enhancing communication between health professionals, educators, relevant authorities and government leaders. We are a member driven organisation, made of passionate health providers from a wide range of professional backgrounds. We are looking for an enthusiastic outcome-driven Executive Officer to lead a rapidly growing association who can drive strategic plans, support advocacy work and elevate organisational success.
Understanding the Role
The vision of the Australasian Lymphology Association is Excellence in health care for people living with lymphoedema. The preferred candidate will have this vision at the centre of decisions made for the association.
- Mission Alignment: Understand the mission, vision, and values of the organization, letting that drive your vision for our association.
- Strategic Leadership Working with the Board and committees to execute the Boards Strategic plan, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs that align with the organization's goals.
- Financial Acumen: Non-profits often operate under financial constraints. Achieving budget expectations through developing strategies maximising current income and actively seek opportunities to secure new income sources.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Initiate relationships with new industry partners, government groups corporate and non-for-profit sectors across Australasia and engaging with various stakeholders, our members and government agencies.
Key Skills and Experience
- Management Experience: Demonstrated capacity to manage people, including volunteers, multiple projects, stakeholders and daily duties while delivering outcomes within timeframes and budget.
- Health Sector Knowledge: Relevant experience in the no-for-profit sector is highly desirable. Understanding of the health sector, including trends, challenges, and regulatory environments. Be informed about potential opportunities and grants available to our organisation.
- Mindset: Proactive critical thinker who is solutions focussed. You will be committed to ongoing professional and personal development.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for advocacy and building partnerships as well as engaging with members, health professionals and government bodies. Ability to manage conflict, focussing on a positive outcome.
- Written skills: Excellent written communication skills are required for tasks such as formal correspondence, board reports, submissions, annual reports, web content and social media.
- Computer Skills: High level computer skills including MS office, database and website CMS.
- Adaptability: Show your ability to adapt to changing circumstances and innovate solutions to meet the organization’s goals. Ability to adapt communication to our diverse community.
The Position
- 0.6FTE renumeration will align with the relevant state award and experience
- This is a remote position; a phone and computer will be supplied. Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel are expected.
