The Organisation:
The Western Australian Aged Care Collaborative Group comprises seven of WA’s most respected and successful Aged Care providers who have established this Group with the principal purpose to advocate on behalf of the members and the aged care sector to achieve better outcomes for older Western Australians. The Group has a clear advocacy agenda which is being advanced through strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The Position:
Reporting to the CEO of Juniper and acting under the direction of the rotating Group Chair, the Executive Officer’s role is to maximise the impact of the WA Aged Care Collaborative Group. This includes effectively engaging with all levels of government and peak industry bodies and advocating for the sustainable provision of high-quality aged care services in WA. Key responsibilities will include:
- Analyse the impact of government policy on the provision of aged care services and prepare policy positions.
- Develop, implement, and manage advocacy priorities.
- Prepare submissions for government and peak body consultation.
- Provide expert communication advice, guidance, and support to ensure delivery of key messages including briefing sessions with government officials and politicians.
- Identify, establish, and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage projects which support the advocacy priorities, working with external organisations as needed.
- Convene monthly meetings with the Group CEO’s and follow through on agreed actions.
About You:
Our preferred candidate will already have exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability in supporting and advising at a senior management level within an organisation. Importantly, you need to be passionate about contributing to a more sustainable aged care sector and be driven by a vision of fostering a community where every older person is honoured and valued. Ideally, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in healthcare administration, politics, law, communications or marketing, or another related field.
- Proven experience in the health care, aged care, or disability sector in a strategic, policy or advocacy role.
- Ability to work autonomously to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a flexible mindset.
- Professional presentation and communication skills underpinned by a proactive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government to influence sound policy outcomes.
- Proven organisational and project management skills.
