The key duties of the position include
- Coordinating the preparation of briefing material, research, stakeholder management, cross-division communication, and monitoring progress on key activities.
- Providing input into strategic planning and business documentation including advice on program and organisational issues.
- Advising on strategic issues affecting the Division.
- Coordinating Divisional and Branch business planning, staffing and property requirements and associated documentation.
- Coordinating senior executive level briefs including drafting, editing, and preparation of presentations and reports.
- Coordinating senior executive and Ministerial meetings and critical tasks and requests for the IO Division, including strategic responses to media requests and sensitive issues.
- Working with the Executive Assistant to EDIO to ensure the smooth running of the EDIO Office, through appropriate prioritisation of workflow.

- Highly developed verbal communication skills, good negotiation skills and an ability to articulate complex operational and business matters to Senior Executives.
- Superior written communication skills and the ability to prepare various correspondence, reports and briefing materials on behalf of EDIO.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain productive internal and external working relationships across a geographically dispersed organisation.
- Experience in an intelligence or law enforcement agency.
