Position Description
The Heart Research Institute is looking for Exercise Physiologistsor Physiotherapists to fill various contractor roles in Warragamba, Bomaderry and Canberra as part of the Congenital Heart Fitness Intervention Trial (CH-FIT). This is an exciting role, and a great opportunity to work with young people with Congenital Heart Disease, as part of a world-leading Clinical Research trial. About the project:
CH-FIT is a research project which aims to improve quality of life, exercise capacity, health outcomes and prognosis for children and adults living with congenital heart disease through exercise training and lifestyle programs. The project is the world's largest and most definitive exercise trial ever performed in people living with congenital heart disease.
There are currently three contractor positions available in the following locations:
- Warragamba
- Bomaderry
- Canberra
There is also the potential opportunity for other participants outside of these areas across greater Sydney to be added to a causal pool. If you’re interested but outside these areas, please contact the study team via the email below.
Successful candidates will have a strong interest in exercise and heart disease. New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Main responsibilities:
You will be responsible for delivering up to three, 60-minute exercise sessions each week for a 4-month period.
Each session is pre-planned consisting of a warm-up on the bike, a machine weighted based program and a cool-down on either the bike or any aerobic-based machine of the participant's choice.
We will also cover both your and the participant's entry to the gym so there is no extra cost to you.

- Public Liability and Professional - Indemnity Insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Working with Children Check
- Appropriate accreditation (ESSA or AHPRA)
