About the Role
Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is the public art gallery for the City of Darebin, hosting contemporary visual arts and craft exhibitions and an onsite café set in a heritage mansion and gardens. This position plays a key role in the Art & Collections Team which oversees visual art services within the City of Darebin. This position assists the Curator in the delivery of exhibitions and collections management projects.
• Assist with implementing an exhibition schedule at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre
• Oversee collections maintenance and conservation projects for both the Darebin Art Collection and the Public Art Collection
• Develop relationships and networks with the local arts community and ensure programming, public programs and opportunities are made available to, and relevant for, local artists and local arts lovers
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience working in a public arts/cultural/arts facility.
• Knowledge and experience of collection management including databases, artwork storage and handling.
• Experience in exhibition coordination or project management in a gallery or cultural facility.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
