Due to recent success with major Energy, Resources and Telecommunications client CE Group will be rolling out N2P NBN throughout Mackay and its regional areas. The work will oversee the installation of upgraded and extended fibre deeper into communities in the region.
You will play a critical role in building the NBN network, including fibre hauling, fibre splicing and pit installations, between the exchange and customer network boundary, managing client infrastructure, ensuring compliance and supporting the successful execution of the project.
About you:
You will be an experienced Civil Telecommunicaitons installer across the below functions.
- Fibre hauling, splicing and testing
- DJL, FJL, BJL and SMP Installation
- Installation of communication pit and pipe, conduit
- Operation of Vacuum Excavator,
- Rod, Rope and blockage work
- Reading of plans
To be considered this role you will need:
- Current C Class drivers licence and or HR/MR licence
- Construction Industry Induction White Card
- First Aid – CPR
- Previous experience in the telecommunications industry - working in live carrier networks would be an advantage
- Asbestos removal licence would be an advantage
- Be able to read and interpret NBN Standards and Guidelines
- Proven understanding of OH&S Standards
- Be physically fit for relevant duties
- Consent and pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test

- Proof of the above qualifications
- Be available Monday – Friday
- Work full-time hours with reasonable over-time
- Possess attention to detail, ability to prioritise and manage own time
- Be self-motivated and willing to learn
- Work well within a team environment with multiple levels of reporting to management
