The role
We are actively seeking a motivated and experienced Shipping Assistant Accountant to join our Chatswood office. Work in a collaborative environment, where your contribution ensures timely and efficient outcomes for our team.
As a Shipping Assistant Accountant - the successful applicant will be responsible for the following key duties in assisting the Chief Accountant:
- Manage daily accounting operations in accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure timely supplier payments.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Oversee payroll and superannuation processes.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset activities.
- Monitor and manage debt-related operations.
Tax and Reporting Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Australian Taxation Office and state governments for BAS and payroll tax.
- Analyse accounting data to produce financial reports and statements.
- Assist in the annual income tax and fringe benefit tax return process for our Public Accountant.
