We are a growing rubber recycling company located in Perth / Western Australia. Currently, we are seeking an Expert Rubber Production Machine Operator. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adherence to safe operating procedures for personal safety and the safety of colleagues and machinery.
- Mill operation, including setup, cutting down, feeding cross over, feeding onto the takeaway conveyor belt, monitoring, and fixing jams.
- Operation of batch-out mixers and downstream processing equipment according to established procedures.
- Activities related to the storage of materials and products.
- Maintenance of cleanliness in production and storage areas.
- Adherence to all relevant Production safe work procedures.
- Measures and loads materials, items and ingredients for mixing into machines and feeding mechanisms.
- Monitors operation, regulates material supply and adds chemicals and colorants to mixture.
- Maintaining factory machinery.
- Fixing machines that have broken down.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent (demonstrating basic mathematical skills).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Senior Rubber Production Machine Operator.
- Relevant certificates int he field.
- Ability to read safe work procedures in English.
- Physical fitness and capability for demanding tasks with no restrictions on weight-bearing or prolonged standing.
- A pre-employment medical is mandatory for all candidates, including drug and alcohol screening, audiometric, and spirometry tests (lung function).
HOURS OF WORK
Hours: 38 hours + 2 hours overtime per week.
Monday to Friday: 6:30 am – 3:30 pm (2 hours overtime per week included)
Overtime may be available occasionally on Saturdays and Sundays.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Indoor setting with no heating or cooling in the building.
Mill operators spend most of the day standing.
Exposure to noise, dust, carbon black, and rubber fumes.
The mill's temperature varies between 90 – 170°C, and it is classified as heavy machinery.
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Safety footwear
Safety glasses
Hearing protection
Heat-resistant gloves
High-visibility clothing, including long sleeves and trousers or overalls
Respirator (P2 type)
Additional PPE may be required on certain occasions.
