Position Details:
The role of the Exploration Geologist involves the collection and analysis of coal and gas samples. The role works within the Exploration sector of the business and will primarily support the client’s exploration department roles with the collection of field samples and technical data.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carrying out exploration field chip and core logging including coal quality sampling, gas
- Compliance sampling and geotechnical sampling
- Geological and geotechnical data entry
- Geophysical corrections of field data
- Geological data QAQC, data validations and database management
- Management of exploration contractors including geophysical loggers and earthworks
- Preparation of geological samples and dispatching to laboratories
- Collection of coal and gas samples and field data
- Completing field inspections to survey the best regions to conduct field works
- Creation of technical reports and recording data into the clients database
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Sciences, Construction management, quantity surveying)
- Strong work ethic
- Enjoy working remotely
- Full clean driver’s license
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Standard 11, S123 and CBM (X-ray included)
