Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia is the Pacific lead trade and investment promotion agency. PTI Australia develops and promotes businesses and people from the Pacific through trade, investment and tourism.
At the core of PTI Australia’s work is improving the livelihoods of Pacific people by enabling decent work and economic growth in the Blue Pacific.
PTI Australia is part of the global PTI Network with offices in China, Europe, Japan and New Zealand. The Networks mandate is driven by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), supporting the 16 Forum countries from the Blue Pacific: Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, FSM, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
PTI Australia is an agency of PIFS, funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Key Responsibilities
- Complete market analysis and identify opportunities for sales growth with new and existing buyers.
- Identification and prospecting of new business leads, including qualification and needs assessment.
- Drive commercial growth through proactively searching the market for new business opportunities and develop into profitable and sustainable client relationships.
- Manage business missions and trade show representation.
- Research and build relationships with new clients and industries.
- Undertake business promotion and representational opportunities to actively market PTI Australia’s service offerings with relevant stakeholders in Pacific Island countries and Australia.
- Develop and maintain all aspects of the CRM database to ensure effective program service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualification or strong experience in trade facilitation and FMCG sales.
- Demonstrated history in achieving revenue targets set by the organisation within sales and business development.
- Proven success in developing strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external customers.
- Sales experience in food and agricultural products and a business mind set with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to build relationships within the complex social and political environment of developing economies in the Pacific Islands.
- Current driver’s license
- Legally able to work in Australia.
