AddressPosition: Hospital Cleaner - Expressions of Interest
Location: Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, NSW
We are currently accepting Expressions of Interest (EoI) for future roles as a Hospital Cleaner with the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in the NSW Sydney Local Health District. Applications for this role are EoI's only, where applications are entered into a talent pool for future positions.
Please note, to be successful you must have a minimum of 12 months commercial cleaning experience.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
To provide a range of high-quality cleaning services across multiple departments of the hospital. Using high attention to detail, successful candidates will maintain a clean environment to support infection control and patient and staff safety.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Weekday shifts Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:00pm. This role includes general cleaning duties across all areas of the hospital.
NOTE: Shifts may include working in areas testing or treating infectious conditions; full PPE must be worn on these shifts specifically. All PPE and training will be provided.
- Ensure that all areas, including patient rooms, waiting areas, and common spaces, are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected regularly to prevent the spread of infections.
- Properly dispose of medical waste and general waste according to hospital protocols and regulations.
- Comply with safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with the hospital staff regarding any maintenance or cleanliness issues, and promptly address any concerns or requests.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned, and cleanliness standards are met.
- Minimum 12 months commercial cleaning experience required.
- Experience working in hospitals or aged care facilities is advantageous.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
- Ability to work both unsupervised and within a team.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and willingness to comply with Work Health and Safety standards.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Must be able to satisfy NSW Health Category A vaccination requirements, as outlined in the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases or be willing to obtain these immunisations.
- Must be able to obtain and pass a National Criminal Police Check.
- When working in areas requiring full PPE, a fitted N95 safety mask must be worn.
