The opportunity
Based at our Kwinana Workshop or Subiaco office, we are currently seeking an experienced Fabrication Estimator, to join our team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for project work and maintenance contracts.
About the role
- Apply a commercial view when producing tenders
- Lead the bid, review tender documents, and provide information and advice to tenders and estimating
- Prepare estimates, quantities, prices and costings for various project costs, plant, equipment, and materials
- Development of work breakdown activities, cost rates for skilled labour and trade
- Development of detailed technical clarifications
- Undertake analytic risk assessment for all activities and understand how changes of scope can affect the contract performance
- Obtain competitive quotes for the provision and materials of services
- Ensure proposals are subject to management review and are corporately compliant
- Development of basis of estimate documents
About you
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial fabrication estimating, within a contractor environment
- Trade background or engineering degree desirable
- Have a working knowledge of all appropriate legislation, national standards, codes of practice and industry practices applicable to your position and ensure that they are observed and make necessary provisions for them when preparing tenders
- Experience working in the fabrication discipline
- Ability to interpret and accurately develop MTO's from Engineering drawings
- Sound analytic capabilities, technical knowledge, and computer literacy Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills - particularly with Excel
- The ability to produce detailed estimates based on First Principles.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff in a multi-cultural environment
