West Coast Site Services have an exciting & rare opportunity for a Fabrication Workshop Foreman to join our team. We are in an exciting growth stage of our business, and this is your opportunity to be a part of our growing success. This is a diverse role within our Landsdale workshop.
Qualifications & experience:
- Workshop Foreman experience or managing a team experience essential
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- NATA Welding Certification provided (Welder must be able to pass FCAW & GMAW in a FPBW test, provided by WCSS)
- Forklift licence beneficial but not essential
- Experience with bridge/gantry cranes beneficial
- Current manual driver's and HR licences
- Ability to manage a small, tight knit team of approximately 5 fabricators
- Attention to detail
- Strong Leadership & people management skills
- Ability to multitask and plan ahead
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel
- Reporting directly to Workshop Manager
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement the Fabrication Workshop activities with the Workshop Manager to meet with client deadlines
- Fabricating & welding out structural steel assemblies when required
- QA inspections of fabricated items
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings
- Assign jobs and direct team members
- Ensure safe work practices
- Be able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously when required
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, consistently
- Be able to pass initial and on-going Drug and Alcohol screening
- Pass a Pre-Employment Medical
- Good communication skills
- High level of safety awareness and compliance
- Own reliable transport
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Great attitude and reliable
- Must have the right to work and live in Australia
- Provide up to 2 professional references

- Competitive pay (a salary between $85,000 - $100,000), with overtime and weekend work
- Fortnightly pay (including holiday pay, sick leave and public holidays)
