Stewarts Engineering is a family-owned Fabrication business located in the picturesque coastal town of Esperance, Western Australia. Established in 1989 by the current Managing Director.
As a reputable metal fabrication enterprise, we are acknowledged for providing exceptional services and superior products. To further lead our accomplished team, we are now seeking a skilled Workshop Manager to collaborate closely with the Managing Director.
About you:
The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in fabrication coupled with solid business acumen. They must showcase successful leadership in diverse teams, coupled with a passion for career success. Essential qualities include client interaction experience, effective communication, a positive team attitude, and autonomy in work.
Fulfilling the role requires proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, adept prioritisation, task delegation for meeting tight delivery deadlines, and ensuring seamless workshop operations.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following essential criteria:
Effective Communication and Initiative: Demonstrates strong communication skills and exhibits initiative in staff management.
Management Experience in Fabrication Workshop: Previous experience in a management role within a light to medium Fabrication Workshop.
Trade Qualification: Holds a trade qualification in steel fabrication or mechanical engineering.
Leadership and People Management: Capable of leading and managing teams to optimise productivity, creating a safe, equitable, and rewarding workplace.
Time Management and Organisational Skills: Exhibits excellent time management and organisational skills to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Estimation Experience: Previous experience in estimating works, including structural steel and general fabrication, would be advantageous.
Comprehensive Fabrication & Design Knowledge: Possesses a thorough understanding of fabrication and design principles.
Client Relationship Management: Ability to develop, build, and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients.
Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental Management: Demonstrates an overriding commitment to health, safety, and environmental management.
Technical Skills: Experience with Autocad/Solidworks is advantageous.
Certifications: Holds a White Card and possesses a C Class manual Drivers Licence. MR/HR Licence would be advantageous.
