Franmarine is a successful and rapidly growing WA owned and operated small/medium enterprise (SME) that specialises in delivery of underwater services to Defence, Infrastructure and Resource industries.
Franmarine is in an exciting phase of growth and we are actively searching for a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager to become an invaluable part of our exceptional team.
As an integral part of the Franmarine team, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and includes the following responsibilities;
- Management of Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and servicing of diving equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance System: Maintain an organised inventory of diving equipment, spare parts, tools, and materials necessary for repairs and maintenance. You will be responsible for updating and referencing the PMS and liaising with Operations to ensure preparedness for upcoming work.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all equipment repairs and maintenance meet industry standards and safety regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of divers.
- Team Management: Lead and manage teams in assigning tasks, providing training, and overseeing their work to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Workshop Operations: Coordinate workshop schedules, prioritise tasks, and allocate resources to meet operational needs. This includes managing inventory control, tracking equipment usage, and maintaining adequate stock levels of consumables, essential equipment and spare parts.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the workshop to prevent accidents, injuries, and equipment failures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, warranties, and service history. Generate reports as needed for management and regulatory purposes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, technological upgrades, and cost-saving initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction
- HSEQ: Responsible and accountable for a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all HSEQ requirements
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience in Workshop Management or similar environment/job role
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ‘can do attitude’
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
- Hold current first aid certificate
- Hold relevant certificates and training to be competent and safe in the service and maintenance of required equipment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
- Highly desirable or willingness to obtain: High risk work licence (FL and DG), MR licence and other necessary licences qualifications
- Advanced communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- Intermediate to advanced in computer systems and/or Preventative maintenance systems
- Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to successfully manage fluctuating workloads and prioritise accordingly
