Our multi-disciplined projects team have delivered on significant upgrade, modification and relocation projects throughout Australia in the Printing/Packaging, Quarry, Food Packaging (FMCG), Dairy, Plastic Moulding and Wood Processing sectors. With a workshop based in Sydney, we have a significant trade workforce that provides a full range of engineering and fabrication services as well as onsite installation, repairs and maintenance work.
The role:
We have an opportunity for a Fabricator/Fitter to join the team. The successful applicant will have a diverse and exciting range of duties, be fully qualified, self motivated and have excellent fabrication skills. A reliable and proactive individual that can work independently both in the workshop & field, building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, where you will be responsible for the manufacture, installation, repair and upgrade of equipment, products and structures.

You also have good mechanical fitting skills, enabling you to maintain and repair machinery/equipment in a safe and timely manner, allowing production plans to be achieved. Previous experience working with Printing and Packaging machinery is also highly regarded, as is adherence to WHS policies and procedures.
The position is available for day shift, working a 40hr week.
Your main duties will include but not limited to:
- Fabrication and fitting of Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel
- Custom fabrication
- Mig Welding
- Tig Welding Alloy and Stainless Steel
- Installation of components and equipment upgrades
- Responding to machine breakdowns urgently in the field
- Trouble-shooting breakdowns and repairs
- Installation of new machinery and decommissioning of old machinery
- Day to day scheduled maintenance on Print, Packaging and associated equipment
- Maintenance shift coverage
- Adhere to WHS requirements
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
- Trade qualified
- Proven experience in the fabrication and fitting of Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel
- Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication techniques, including cutting, welding, and polishing
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures and project schedules
- Experience in Printing / Packaging operations or maintenance of high volume, tight delivery equipment (desirable)
- Be able to work under pressure to have jobs completed in the time frame given
- Possess the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
- Proven experience in machine trouble shooting, problem solving and fault finding (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Honest and reliable
- Current drivers’ licence
