zero2hero is a WA-based youth mental health charity.
Founded in 2012, zero2hero provides an innovative solution to the current mental health and suicide crisis in Australia. We do this by creating and facilitating programs that allow young people to connect with themselves and each other, to understand their needs and how to ask for help. zero2hero has found a way to connect with young people that is authentic and real.
THE ROLE
zero2hero requires an experienced facilitator to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of school programs, workshops and camps. This role is responsible for the delivery, quality and success of our youth programs.
We are seeking someone skilled in youth program delivery. Our ideal facilitator is passionate, personable and professional. If you are passionate about mental health and strong in facilitation skills, this role could be for you.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in program facilitation, mental health/education, and working with young people.
REQUIRED EXPERTISE
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. eg; education, psychology, health promotion, or;
- Certificate IV in Facilitation/Social Work/Youth Work or equivalent, plus relevant work experience, or;
- 5+ years of demonstrated relevant work experience in Facilitation / working with engaging educational content / effective management of a classroom / workshop environment
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must be a highly skilled presenter and great at public speaking (facilitating programs to small and large groups is a requirement of this role)
- Demonstrated experience and excellence in Program Facilitation
- Behaviour management skills and great at working with children and young people
- Has a strong attention to detail
- Works well in a team and is a self-starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- National Police Clearance no older than 6 months
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
DESIRABLES
- Experience in the not for profit/non-government sector
- Experience in the mental health sector
WHAT WE DO
zero2hero offer a range of school programs, camps and events that aim to educate, engage and empower young mental health ambassadors (or heroes as they are referred to at zero2hero).
Our schools' programs offer a range of mental health education and engagement. These can vary anywhere from a 1-hour one-off presentation to 1-hour weekly workshops over several weeks, or an annual program with teacher/parent information sessions and regular student sessions.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
Must attached a CV and a cover letter.
The successful candidate will be looking to join the team as a level 4 Senior Facilitator under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100].
The role is part-time, from 22.5 hours per week to 30 hours per week.
