We are seeking an experienced and professional Facilities Maintenance Officer to provide hands on maintenance services, undertake minor capital improvements, and perform installation of equipment to support effective and high-quality outcomes in relation to the Shire's hard assets for parks, reserves, buildings, and other structures.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
- Effectively and efficiently, undertake ad hoc and scheduled servicing, maintenance and repair to ensure the safe operation of all Shire buildings, facilities and hard assets.
- Ensure action requests and all customer points of contact are dealt with and completed in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
- Prioritising work schedules to meet service maintenance timelines.
- Identify and report all maintenance issues, including initial assessments and recommendations to the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance for action and recording.
- Assist with asset condition assessments and investigations as part of an asset management function, as required.
- Responding to and removing graffiti from Shire Facilities and as directed by Supervisor Facilities Maintenance.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Post trade certificate and/or post-secondary qualification or considerable experience in a similar role
- Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritising skills
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance practices
- Participation in on-call roster
- Excellent customer service skills
- Well-developed computer skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant Western Australian Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- 'C' Class driver's licence
- Current OHS Construction Induction (White card)
Desirable Criteria
- Broad understanding the standards and requirements for repairing and maintaining building assets.
- Contract management experience.
- Current first aid qualification
- Park and reserve hard asset maintenance experience

An attractive salary range is on offer: $73,094.42 - $75,303.74, dependent on experience. Plus, commuter use of a Shire vehicle, plus 12% Superannuation, plus annual increments and annual Industrial Agreement salary increases (3.5% increase effective 1 July 2024).
