The role:
As the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of all maintenance and facilities operations within Nomads Sydney and The Scary Canary. This is a very hands on role that will involve you along side your team needing to complete day to day maintenance tasks, this role has some administration involved however does require you to be physically fit and able to move around the building throughout the day. It requires a diverse range of basic trade skills as well as administrative based tasks.
Key Duties:
- Reporting into the General Manager to go through daily/weekly building updates
- Management of day to day contractors and trades people
- Organisation of reactive maintenance works and scheduled maintenance works
- Organisational skills to Follow up contractors to ensure preventative works are carried out as per obligations and works are done to a certain standard
- Administrative tasks are carried out and invoices/proof of works are attached to jobs in the facility management software
- Day to day supervision of bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
- Planning and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules using software
- Ensure the property upholds Health & Safety and fire safety responsibilities and completing monthly OH&S reports
- Maintaining records as required
- Maintaining high communication levels with all other departments
- Assisting in the management of project alongside the General Manager
- able to maintain maintenance budgets
- Ability to competently lead a team
Compliance
- Ensure the properties daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventative maintenance programs are run to schedule
- Actively Ad-hoc maintenance and compliance issues in line with company protocols
What we are looking for?
- General maintenance skills
- A trade qualification preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working autonomously in a maintenance position
- Exceptional organisational skills and proven ability to multi task
- An understanding of hostels and bars
- A can do attitude and a desire to succeed
