About the role:
Future Fuels & Carbon team is responsible for identifying, developing and executing on a pipeline of hydrogen, carbon offset and other renewable fuel opportunities to support the realisation of Origin's strategy.
The Facilities Superintendent is responsible for setting up the team with guidance and direction from the acting head of operations and it is essential that applicant must have team leadership, supervisory experience in operations environment.
Why this role matters?
The Facilities Superintendent is one of the designated custodians of the asset’s Safety Management Plan (as Site Safety Manager) and Emergency Response Plan (as the SERT Team Leader) and as determined by the location of the incident. The Facilities Superintendent is primarily site based in Newcastle, NSW with initial operation readiness work undertaken at Brisbane offices. During early operations and from time to time there may be a requirement to work from the Brisbane or Sydney office.
The Facilities Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of the facilities including (hydrogen production facilities, high-pressure compression and storage facilities, minor pipeline facilities and hydrogen refuelling facilities where applicable) to ensure safe, reliable operation of assets in accordance with all relevant legislation, operating procedures and agreed schedules.

- Demonstrated understanding of primary engineering disciplines
- High level communications skills – written and verbal
- Superior decision-making skills
- Budgeting and financial skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and to think strategically
Experience
- Senior facility management experience in major hazard facility in one or more of: power generation, industrial gas, chemical process plant or oil & gas operations
- Experience leading senior facility-based management and supervisory teams
- Experience in effective emergency response
