The Western Australia (WA) Electoral Commission is looking for an experienced person to fill the position of Facility Coordinator within the Election Operations Division for the Local Government Election 2025 and State General Election 2025.

The WA Electoral Commission manages elections events for the State and local governments and non-parliamentary organisations.

Whilst this selection process will be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies that become available at the Commission. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Applicants to note that based on organisational requirements, this position will be offered on a combination of full time and part time work with the possibility of extension and or permanency.

What do you do?

We are looking for someone who has had experience and knowledge in managing a facility for large-scale events. You will have had been responsible for establishing processes, procedures, schedules, and operational documentation that are implemented to support the effective management of the Commission's operational activities. You will have had an experience in complying with Work, Health, and Safety principles for a major event.

You will work within the Election Operations Division and as a member of the WA Electoral Commission will work to achieve its objectives, comply with its values, and provide services which are compatible with existing frameworks.

Requirement of the position (Selection Criteria):

  • Proven expertise in leading and managing projects in a mission critical environment.
  • Experience in Facility / site management.
  • Ability to take full accountability for the planning, prioritising, and organising of work for self and others to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Proven planning and organising skills including creating schedules and meet inflexible deadlines and effective end-to-end project management of high-volume, time bound projects.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and written communication skills, including the ability to write operational manuals and ability to problem solve.
  • General knowledge regarding WHS principles.

Desirable:

  • General knowledge of procurement / supplier policies and rules
  • Software knowledge for creating to scale site plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
