We support children and young people from birth to young adults who have physical and intellectual disabilities such as genetic or chromosomal disorders, birth trauma, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and conditions acquired after birth. About the role:
We are seeking permanent part time or full time (depending on the applicant) Facility Manager.
In this position you will be required to actively manage the facilities and operations of Allowah including but not limited to:
- Management of the scheduled and reactive maintenance of the building/s
- Management of external service providers and contractors
- Consultation with contractors, suppliers, engineers, and relevant internal stakeholders during design and purchasing of facility equipment
- Engage in quality improvement audits and be a key voice in policies and procedures involving emergency planning and management, facility maintenance and planning, and asset replacement strategies
- Participate in the management of the WHS requirements for Allowah and support the WHS Coordinator
- Managing facility equipment and building compliance in regard to Australian and NSW Healthcare codes and quality standards
- Taking on the role of the Fire Safety Officer including planning for emergency training and conducting facility evacuation drills. Longer term goal of becoming the Educator in this field.
- Oversight of the Allowah’s technical activities - this includes: HVAC, refrigeration, electricity, plumbing, elevators, medical equipment, IT, parking areas, biomedical equipment, cleaning, and regular maintenance of other facility devices and equipment
- Managing hazardous materials and waste including chemicals, clinical waste, cytotoxic waste, general, and recycling waste streams
- Managing a team of technicians in the Facility Maintenance Team
- Prioritise administrative efficiency in the handling of facility and equipment data and keeping meticulous records of activities and maintenance performed
- Manage the vehicles at Allowah, including regular maintenance, inspection, registration and renewal
- Conduct regular inspections of the building/s
- Resolve all immediate operational and service issues through initiating short-term action and developing strategies to address over time
- Other duties as required
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Hold a current driver license
- Working with Children Check (or be willing to apply)
- NDIS Worker Check (or be willing to apply)
- Experience in a similar field or role
