Job description

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking a motivated Facility Sanitation Officer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Virginia packing shed site located north of Adelaide, in South Australia.

Reporting to the Packing Shed Supervisor, the Facility Sanitation Officer will be responsible for ensuring general cleanliness and organisation of the packing shed site, to include general cleaning and tidying, rotation of stock and basic maintenance activities.

Duties include:

  • Undertake all tasks as assigned, reporting back to the Shed Supervisor when completed.
  • Complete cleaning and sanitising activities, including high pressure cleaning, floor scrubbing, walls and doorways cleaning, bird droppings cleaning, cool room cleaning, dust monitoring and general cleaning.
  • Visual inspections of facility cleanliness, communicating to the Shed Supervisor on locations requiring attention.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment used in cleaning and basic maintenance activities.
  • Maintain packing facility cleanliness through cleaning, tidying and removal of rubbish as required.
  • Maintain packing sheds facilities hand soap, paper towel, cleaning chemicals, order more as needed.
  • Communicate with the production manager/ supervisor, ensuring that cleaning and maintenance activities can be performed without impeding production requirements.
  • Assist in other areas of the workplace as required (i.e. stacking/packing).
  • Complete general machine cleaning and ensure upkeep is performed as per the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and free of debris, trash and excess material.
  • Report any production, quality or safety problems/concerns to the appropriate Supervisor.
  • Participate in training activities and programs as required.
  • Comply with all Pye Group policies and procedures including WHS, Quality & HR.
  • All other directions of management to achieve the company’s objectives.

Requirements:

  • Full and unrestricted Class C driver’s license (essential).
  • High Risk Work License (essential).
  • Knowledge of production procedures (desirable).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong dexterity skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength.
  • Respect for others and pride in team’s performance.

Flexible work hours are required, in line with seasonal production requirements.
