  • Maximise your earning potential with our NFP salary packaging options

Our Story:

At the heart of the vibrant Broome community stands the Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS), a beacon of care and support for over four decades. Established in 1977 as Western Australia's pioneering remote Aboriginal Medical Service, BRAMS continues to be a cornerstone of health and well-being for the region.

We now have a rewarding opportunity available for a committed Family and Domestic Violence Case Worker to join our team and begin making a tangible difference in the lives of families throughout Broome.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

As a Family and Domestic Violence Case Worker at BRAMS, you will play a pivotal role in fostering safer, more nurturing environments within our community. By joining our compassionate team, you'll have the opportunity to shape positive outcomes and create lasting impacts for those who need it most.

Reporting directly to the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Manager (SEWB), you will collaborate with the Indigenous Aboriginal community, providing crucial support for women and children to achieve their goals. You would also take part in organising community events and projects for positive impact.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive and process referrals, ensuring the immediate needs of allocated clients are met and maintaining regular contact with clients for ongoing support
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety action planning, and develop person-centred plans to build client capacity
  • Collaborate with clients to monitor and review case plans, providing continuous support
  • Provide comprehensive information, assist with referrals, and advocate for families when needed

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting Aboriginal communities along with a Certificate IV in Community Services or similar, will be highly regarded.

Your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills will allow you to engage with clients and stakeholders in an empathetic and professional manner, at the same time your warm demeanour will ensure that clients feel supported through every step of their journey with BRAMS.

Additional requirements include:

  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Licence Verification Check before commencing employment
  • Current satisfactory Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Feel like you have a passion for helping people in need but might be a bit overqualified for the role? We also have another role as a Family and Domestic Violence Social Worker: click here      https://brams.applynow.net.au/jobs/259584
