The Roles The State-wide Referral and Response Service (SRRS) is based in the Perth CBD and is the first point of contact for the community and key stakeholders. It receives and assesses all new referrals of concern for a child to the Department and responds to these referrals through various teams including Central Intake, Crisis Care, Mandatory Reporting and Family Domestic Violence Helpline.

The Opportunity As a Senior Child Protection Worker you will undertake case work activities of a complex nature, and make recommendations on the care and management of children. You will demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in providing services and support to families and provide advice and consultancy to District staff.
The position is rewarding and fulfilling, but not easy. You’ll need to be empathetic, confident, resilient and able to cope with changing circumstances. You’ll work with families and other agencies to build respectful and collaborative relationships to deliver support and services to meet the complex needs of families and children.
SRRS is seeking to establish a pool of suitable Senior Child Protection Worker candidates to fill the following positions:
Domestic Violence Helpline
- 0.96 FTE opportunity available
- Shift working position. See attached roster information.
- 9-hour shifts
- Shift working penalties in line with the Industry Award
- Additional week of annual leave (5 weeks per year, pro rata) in line with the Industry Award
- Training programs and leader supervision to facilitate skill development
Central Intake
- All workers are non case carrying
- Full time opportunities only
- Positions work regular core business hours Monday to Friday
- Flexible work hours with the ability to accrue up to 30 minutes flex each day
- Training programs and leader supervision to facilitate skill development
- Opportunities to work additional hours and overtime shifts across Crisis Care and Central Intake
- Opportunities to transition to other areas of the business

Qualification Requirements
You must have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant human services area to be eligible for this position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
