Our Story:

At the heart of the vibrant Broome community stands the Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS), a beacon of care and support for over four decades. Established in 1977 as Western Australia's pioneering remote Aboriginal Medical Service, BRAMS continues to be a cornerstone of health and well-being for the region.

We now have a rewarding opportunity available for a committed Family and Domestic Violence Social Worker to join our team and begin making a tangible difference in the lives of families throughout Broome.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

As a Family and Domestic Violence Social Worker at BRAMS, you will play a pivotal role in fostering safer, more nurturing environments within our community. Your expert guidance and unwavering support will empower individuals and families to overcome challenges, break cycles of violence, and rediscover paths to healing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing risk assessment and safety action planning with women and their children under the Western Australian Family and Domestic Violence Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework
  • Organising and supporting emergency accommodation plans including appropriate use of brokerage

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

To be considered for this position, you should have tertiary qualifications in Social Work and will ideally have at least two years of experience in a similar role. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting Aboriginal communities will be highly regarded. 

Your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills will allow you to engage with clients in an empathetic and professional manner, while your warm demeanour will ensure that clients feel supported through every step of their journey with BRAMS.
