The successful candidate will:
Have completed their supervised legal practice period;
Have 2+ years of experience in Family Law litigation;
Be able to manage all aspects of Family Law cases from initial consultation to resolution;
Be already confident and proficient in at least 6 of the following areas of Family Law(not simply interested in learning these areas):
Divorce and separation,
Child custody and parenting arrangements,
Family dispute resolution,
Child support and binding child support agreements,
Property settlement,
Family violence intervention orders,
Spousal maintenance, and
Binding financial agreements.
Be able to represent clients in court proceedings, mediations and negotiations, including doing most of their own court hearings;
Have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail;
Have strong negotiation and interpersonal skills;
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Be confident when speaking with clients - this includes the ability to turn a prospect into a client/appointment;
Be self-reliant and independent; and
Be currently billing 3.2 times their current salary without a legal assistant / paralegal.
