An experienced Family worker is required to work together with the Darebin Maternal Child Health Service offering MCH Sleep Settling Program. The MCH Sleep Settling Program forms part of the MCH service to build capacity within Darebin families to respond to infant and child’s cues for sleep.
The role also provides parenting support for families experiencing vulnerabilities as part of the Enhanced Maternal Child Health Team.
- Permanent Part-Time, 0.87 EFT
- Band 6, $95 000 per annum, pro rata

About the Role
Seeking an individual with the following skills to build capacity within Darebin Families;
- Work as part of our multi-disciplinary Maternal & Child Health team supporting and providing services to families experiencing difficulties in relation to sleep & settling or other parenting challenges.
- Facilitate New Parents Groups and Supported Playgroups as required for Sleep & Settling.
- Provide outreach to vulnerable families requiring further follow up and support.
- Provide case management to families linked with both Universal and Enhanced MCH service, identify support needs and link to appropriate services.
- Ability to work in a culturally informed and respectful manner.
- Maintain accurate CDIS records of service provision and data collection of service provision delivered.
- Experience in working with parents of infants/children 0-3 years to promote optimal parent/infant interactions and relationships and children’s developmental stages
- Knowledge of perinatal mental health and transition to parenthood issues.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in community, nursing or welfare studies
- Completion (or working towards )of MCH Sleep & Settling model program
- Substantial case management experience and expertise working with families and children.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License.
- A current Working with Children Card
