The family-owned enterprise, nestled amidst the scenic landscapes of the South East of South Australia, is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join its team as a Farm Hand. With a strong focus on running a self-replacing herd of Angus cows and Crossbred ewes totalling approximately 20,000 DSE, the farm offers a fulfilling career opportunity combined with a comfortable lifestyle. Conveniently located near Beachport (15km), Millicent (40km), and Robe (50km), the property provides a picturesque backdrop for both work and leisure activities.To succeed in this role, you must be a team player willing to help in all facets if required. Reporting directly to the farm manager, this position entails a diverse range of responsibilities crucial to the smooth operation of this agricultural enterprise. These include livestock handling and health management, pasture management, machinery operation and maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, and record-keeping using AgriWebb software.
Duties & responsibilities include:
- Livestock handling and animal health management
- Allocating stock to the appropriate paddocks with the use of a motorbike
- Assessment of pasture availability and supplementary feeding as required
- Operation and maintenance of Farm Machinery, including tractors and implements, modern boom spray and Greenstar navigation
- Repairs and maintenance of fence, water and general farm infrastructure
- Ensuring accurate records are kept and maintained for all livestock movements, health treatments as well as inventory management using AgriWebb

The Ideal Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following;
- Excellent animal husbandry skills
- Experience in working with both sheep and cattle,
- Mechanical proficiency for machinery operation and maintenance,
- Reliability, initiative and adaptability
- Strong communication skills
- Relevant licenses and certifications include driver's licenses, motorbike licenses, and chemical certifications.
- Experience with working dogs for sheep handling is preferred.
