Farm Maintenance Person

We have an opportunity for a Farm Maintenance Person to join our team at Mt Boothby Pastoral, a family owned and operated mixed farming enterprise based in Tintinara, SA.

Your duties will include:

• To perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and farm machinery, mobile plant including tractors, trailers, forklifts and farm vehicles
• Welding and fabrication
• General maintenance duties on sheds, company houses, yards etc
• Odd jobs as required and general yard duties i.e. gas bottle exchange, bin run etc.
• Identifying and undertaking preventative/reactive maintenance work with the support of the wider team
• Be a key team member in site safety
• Facilitate change of plans, have flexibility in work scope
• Other duties as required or requested
• Scheduling of equipment servicing
• Ordering and management of spare parts
• Implement new strategies to maintain and improve output
• Flexibility to assist with daily operations if required such as tractor driving

Skills required:

• Extensive experience in Workshop, Repair and Maintenance are essential
• Good in repair, and service function/ Strong fault-finding ability is essential
• Ability to handle the completion of general paperwork
• Ability to work within processes, procedures, and checklists
• Be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced work environment 
• Be capable of working autonomously as well as in a team
• Be able to prioritise jobs according to the urgency
• A current "HC" Class Drivers Licence preferred
• A current Work Safety at Heights will be required
• A current High-Risk Licence - Forklift Ticket (LF) preferable
• Experience in a trade or maintenance related role
• Current Driver’s licence mandatory
• Fit and able to complete the role
• Able to prioritise and organise multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and a genuine interest to learn
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers & contractors
• Excellent all round mechanical knowledge 
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems with good diagnostic skills
• Sound knowledge & understanding of OH&S requirements
• Excellent communication and work ethic
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Be able to work with minimal supervision
• At times you may have to work under pressure and to a deadline
• Overtime and weekends available if the need arises
• Be highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Mechanical, fabrication and welding experience is essential
• Ability to demonstrate general setup + operation of machinery
