About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Farm Operations Assistant to join the business and support our existing team. This role will operate across both the cropping and livestock side of the business and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the industry. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Farm Operations Assistant will be responsible for:
- Assisting in all aspects of crop production, including seeding, spreading, spraying, and harvesting.
- Operating and maintaining various farm machinery and infrastructure.
- Assisting with all sheep husbandry practices.
- Carrying out general farm maintenance tasks.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of farm activities (utilising AgWorld & AgriWebb).
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment for all farm personnel (use of Safe Ag Systems)
- Maintaining effective communication with farm management and other team members to coordinate daily operations and address any challenges.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 3 years industry experience
- Experience with sheep husbandry would be an advantage
- Be familiar with modern broadacre cropping equipment
- Have a full drivers licence
- Have a HC/MC truck licence (or be willing to obtain)
- Have a Chemical Accreditation certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Solve problems, use initiative and work proactively
- Be willing to learn and embrace new technology as required
