Form of workZerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated operators of FARM SUPERVISORS to join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Parilla site located approximately two hours from Adelaide in the Murray Mallee, South Australia.
Reporting to the operations/farm manager, the Farm Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing activities covering multiple sites to ensure the efficient and timely harvest of produce grown on company farms.
Weekend and night work will be required in line with production demands.
Duties include:
- Preparing the spoil, tiling, plating, fertilizing and harvesting the crops.
- Coordinating and supervising the work of all general farm workers and labourers.
- Supervise and oversee crews involved in all aspects of the farming operation including ground preparation, planting, growing and harvesting.
- Coordinate seed production and seed sourcing, purchase and inventory.
- Coordinate the repair and maintenance of all fertigation, spreading and spr.ay equipment.
- Calibration of all fertigation, spreading and spray equipment.
- Report to Operations Manager of water usage versus issued license quotas.
- Maintaining ground soil sustainability.
- All other directions of management to achieve the company’s objectives.
Requirements:
- Full/unrestricted drivers’ license.
- A demonstrated history in farm supervision.
- Mechanical background and or knowledge.
- Diploma in a relevant field plus at least 1 year of relevant experience OR at least 3 years.
- of relevant experience.
- Chemical User Certificate Accreditation.
- Forklift license.
- HC license
- Knowledge of industry safety and quality systems.
A salary of $80,000 - $ 100,000 will be offered depending on skills and experience.
