We are looking for a smart, vital, communications professional with a real feel for fashion, understands brand, customer demographics, on-line retail and gets social media. Somebody to make major contributions to our social media, the effectiveness of our website, and help build and service our customer database.
Background
Megan Salmon is a successful Fremantle-based fashion label that comprises a flagship store, strong and growing on-line sales, and 60+ wholesale accounts across Australia and New Zealand.
Lead by designer/owner Megan Salmon, the label is renowned for Megan’s empowering styling, confident use of colour, original textile designs and quality fabrics. The label is not price led, is perceived as quality, and particularly loved by professional women 40+
The label operates with a small staff team, produces two ranges a year and is well-known for exemplary customer service.
The Fremantle worksite comprises the warehouse and dispatch, production management, pattern making, communications, video/photography, general administration, as well as Megan’s studio and our flagship shop
The small staff team is highly capable, motivated and thrives on team work with clear positive communications.
The position
Reports directly to the Marketing Manager.
The label’s long-term growth is based on an excellent product, a clearly articulated brand, a powerful website delivering sales, supported by a comprehensive high quality communications and social media program.
The communications assistant is a crucial member of the team and assists in all aspects of communications and marketing, from writing and editing copy, creating social media and web-site content, managing customer database communications.
We are looking someone whose who has an interest and flair for fashion, a strong visual aesthetic and understands brand.
The person we want :
- Is a great copy writer, who can adapt to context and platform - Literate, succinct, lively or witty or descriptive – but writes for our target audience.
- Has some experience or aptitude for social media photography and or video content produced to the brand.
- Familiar with video and picture editing programs
- Familiar working with email and customer databases
- Familiar assisting with editorial fashion shoots
- Have a feel for retail strategies and social media communications programs
- A history of good customer service
- Can follow direction and implement programs in a consistent and thorough way
- Enjoy being part of a small team working in close proximity to the Communication Manager and designer/company director.
- Efficient, hard worker, and easy to get along with
