This is a career opportunity for a tertiary qualified FEA Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in new product development and Engineering Design in the automotive (or similar) manufacturing industry. This role will be based in our Brisbane, Salisbury offices.
The ideal applicants will need to have the following experience:
- A strong level of experience with Linear Static and Dynamic, Thermal, NV, Static and Dynamic Non-linear Finite Element Analysis from both an implicit and explicit FE modelling approach.
- Minimum 2-3 years CAE work experience in a product development environment.
- A proficiency with commercial CAE software tools such as: ANSYS, LsDyna, Nastran, NxNastran, HyperMesh, or Abacus is essential.
- A strong knowledge and understanding across a broad range of Engineering & CAE disciplines namely Static and Dynamic Solid Mechanics, Kinematics, Mechanics of Materials, Structural and Failure analysis.
- A strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical assemblies & structures from a product development view
- A good level of experience with the use of high-end commercial CAD software namely NX, Unigraphics, UGNX & CATIA,
- Experience with the use of CAD, with respect to preparing the 3D model for finite element meshing.
- Experience with FE modelling of structures under various mechanical / physical conditions in 1D, 2D and 3D or a combination thereof.
- A strong ability with the preparation of Technical Documents, FEA Standards & FEA reports.
- Experience from Automotive and/or Transportation Industry CAE is advantageous.
On a daily basis you will be required to work closely with the engineering team, CAD designers, toolmakers, production, sales, senior management, and QA team. The role will also see you liaise with sub-contractors, customers and suppliers in Australia and Internationally.
