We are a well-established, family-owned group of companies based throughout Regional Queensland. Woods Group manufactures, supplies and transports quality Australian-grown seeds, grains, pulses, stock feeds and food products, from the highly productive and premium growing regions of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Woods Livestock runs an intensive cattle Feedlot operation where quality and animal welfare is paramount to our success.
We are seeking a versatile and hardworking individual to join our team as a Feedlot Hand at our recently established and rapidly growing cattle feedlot, based outside of Cecil Plains, Queensland. This is a hands-on role that requires a mix of physical labour, machinery operation and animal husbandry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mixing feed and conducting inductions for new cattle.
- Operating a range of machinery including mixers, loaders, bobcats, and slashers.
- Cleaning out pens, troughs, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Being proactive in all weather conditions, with tasks including shoveling and maintenance.
- Assisting with record-keeping and monitoring cattle health.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to various tasks.
- Strong work ethic and physical stamina.
- Experience in machinery operation is preferred.
- Must be Q-Fever vaccinated or willing to obtain vaccination.
- Ability to work independently and keep an eye on the feedlot when managers are away.
- Ability to Work a flexible roster including some weekends and including overtime when required..
